by Christopher S. on Avid downtown sushi eaters may remember that this location is the location of Yu Sushi not too many months ago. Basically it felt like the same restaurant with worse quality food. I went for lunch however their choices was so mediocre I almost left right there. I ended up deciding on the nigiri sampler so I could try a variety of different things. The salmon was a bit dry and rubbery, the shrimp tough, and the tuna roll it came with was sub par at best. My companion had the cooked salmon bento box and spent a half of his meal fighting the over cooked fish. A couple quick notes about the rest; the waiter was good, attentive without being overly enthusiastic. The lighting however was awful. I am young and dont wear glasses but it was so dark I had to use the light from my phone to read the menu. If you want to eat at this place go soon, because I dont think they'll be there too long.
by La Wanda S. on Last weekend on April 17th my friend paid for bottle service to celebrate her birthday at Suite One8one. Many friends and family flew in to celebrate my friends birthday. We chartered a party bus to drive us to the club safely. When we arrived they had a security guard escort us across the street like we were children. Once we arrived, security at the door made up a lie and said, someone in our party had a bottle of whisky. None of us had whisky in our possession but, we were refused to enter the club. Two of the people with us are Attorneys and they politely asked for the club owner to come down and give us an explanation. Security refused to give us the owners name, refused to serve us and the owner did not come out. They said, if we didn't leave he would signal the police to arrest us. He signaled the police but, the police ignored him. We weren't doing anything wrong, the security guards were the ones needing to be arrested. Luckily, I filmed this entire incident which I will post on Youtube, Facebook and any other media outlet I can think of. People who pay their hard earned money to have a good time should not be treated this way. As a business owner and entrepreneur, I will never forget this experience. I would never treat my customers this way, it's not good business and it's unethical! Watch this: http://www.youtube.com...
by Rickey Rasche on This review isn't about food. It isn't about drinks. It's about the history. I was sold as soon as I learned that the upper level, which houses the pool table, was once a stage to none other than the legends Billie Holiday and Ike & and Tina Turner (separately, of course). You may get swept up in the same historical fever that I did when you see the photographs on the wall.
