by Gordon P. on First and foremost. WARNING. If you happen not to be Asian/Not comfortable around Asians. This club IS NOT for you unless you have yellow fever or something. Not saying that people other than Asians aren't welcome, but if you don't want to be the only other face in a ocean of Asian folks than yeah...this club isn't your best bet. Otherwise, you're going be feeling right at home! Another tip before even reviewing nightlife. If you even want to have a good experience, come dressed fresh and trendy. As mundane as it sounds, the way you present yourself says A LOT about yourself and first impressions are everything. If you dress like a slob, no one will even bother to even look at you. You will be ignored and treated as if you were part of the wall. The most presentable you look, guaranteed you'll be surprised at the amount of attention you may get. But I'm pretty sure all y'all know whats up.... The venue is fairly nice. There is technically two open stories in the club. I sometimes say three because the dance floor and bar located on the second floor has a balcony. There is also a fourth floor which serves as a VIP lounge and a private party room where you can host whatever events that require it. There's a few niches about this club that I dislike. 1. The restroom is located at the first story and you have to walk a considerably long distance (seems so when you're drunk). 2. No smoking allowed in the club (guess thats good), but the outside smoking area is also located on the first floor which is FAR. 3. The drinks are pretty expensive. I only got henn and coke, it was 13 dollars. Damn! 4. The bouncers are occasional douche bags. When you're on the balcony, you can't lean on the handrail? The hell? I'm tired from all this dancing and walking, all I want to do is rest for a moment. Other than that. Everything seems to be alright. Long lines are frequent so come early! The cover prices varies from 20-30, depending on the event and day I'm guessing. There's also coat check for four dollars, I think? Parking across the street is expensive ($15), walk one more block down and you can find it for $5, no hassle. After the club, there's always these hot dog vendors outside, selling for four dollars? That doesn't seem much after buying drinks all night long.... 4 stars! Coming back again...place is poppin' on the weekends!
by Justin K. on Went here for a digg party. It was off the hook... I got to meet my idol, Kevin Rose, and he gave me a VIP bracelet that got me free drinks! But aside from all that, the club is cool, very spacious, and has a lot of breathing room. Check out the archives at http://justin.tvto see footage of Mezzanine!
by Filiberto Mergenthaler on This is one of my favorite clubs in SF as much as it is played out. It reminds me of the NY and Miami night club scene. Thre crowd is usually pretty good looking here and there are usually some interesting events going on the weekends. Definitely one of the best real clubs in SF.
