by Jeanne Kornman on So I went here for lunch the other day expecting good fish and chips...well I was wrong! They were fish sticks! Who the hell serves those anymore? I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and nice. The highpoint of my lunch for sure. So MAYBE I had a Guinness for lunch. What I didnt expect was $7 for the pint! Am I seriously back home in NY right now?? FIsh and chips and MAYBE a beer + tip = $32 for lunch!! Total rip off--never again.
by Victorina Averett on It's more like "why not?" instead of this is a great place. Nice views, crowded, and the music is more geared for a 40's crowd (Saturday). I came with my date a few years back and her friends. We ended up sharing a table with Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, and some other baseball player I didn't remember. We were doing fine until I mentioned that Barry didn't play that day because he was supposed to be on the Disabled List, yet was able to hang out that night. That got a sour look from the HomeRun King and laughs from the rest. I got some snide remarks from him later and we decided to leave. If you're in town, or have guests in San Francisco, this is a relatively safe bet to take them here.
by Joon Y. on I met my current girlfriend here on a gay night! (Through a friend of course) LOL. I kid you not, I did! She claims I didn't talk to her prior to dancing with her so she wasn't sure if I was gay or not, but dude...I totally talked to her and bought her a drink before that! C'mon! This was my first gay bar experience. I came here for Dragon on a Friday night with my bay gay friend Jon, a gay Londoner Luke, a questionable gay NY'er Chris, and Namu W (who might be the gayest of the bunch, his wife is a cover), and couple of my gal pals (for safe measure), but I digress... The music kept us dancing all night! The bartenders were super nice and generous with the alcohol potions and the price wasn't too bad for a SF bar. The crowd is obviously gay men if you're into that kinda thing but a little grabby for me. The atmosphere was clean, although the bathrooms might be a little on the iffy side...ick. Next time I need to wear shirt like this: http://hunterscanvas.t... or a button that say, "You can touch, but not too much." Good times all around.
