The polar ice caps may still be melting but, I finally got my act together and  went to Silk City. It's a diner that has it goin' on with a dash of Magic Gardens (just search Magic Gardens if you have no idea what I'm talking about). Dancing + greasy diner food = hipster hang out. Okay, maybe that equation doesn't make a ton of sense but it seemed like there was a good percentage of folks who looked like their worlds were centered around the arts. Anyway, the food. Right, I'm reviewing a place that serves food. I had a cheese burger and the chocolate brownie ice cream thing for dessert. Yum. No complaints. The burger was cooked exactly the way I had requested it. The waiters and bartenders weren't necessarily super speedy but based on Silk City's vibe, I wasn't expecting a waiter to hover by my table. Next time, I'd like to come back for some dancing. I will report back!

This is one of my favorite festivals all year.  The space is amazing. The event is well organized.  It's an intimate environment.  At the end of the festival I felt like I'd met everyone. Also, the food is amazing.  Unlike other festivals, I leave MP feeling healthier.

I've been to The Roxy once so far to see a Faint show. The set up was awesome, the sound was great, the dance floor is big and fun, lots of bar space, cool setting, and a large venue. I would definitely go back to see any band that I am into.
