by Lina L. on disappointed! Came pretty late, like around 11pm on a Saturday night! thinking my group & I would get in..but instead we didn't the bouncer asked if we were on the guest list & i guess they had a private party because they didn't have anyone in! GGGAAAYY!!! and guess what we paid 20bucks for parking and my car wasn't even parked we left like in 10 minutes after getting out of the car!! Looks like a sweet ass club, but maybe next time I'll stick to getting on the guest list or find a promoter!! grrr!!!
by Albertha Passman on Hold on. Let me just copy and paste the advertisement that made Roe the venue of choice for the evening: SATURDAY, June 10 9:30 pm - 3 am Greg the Groove, Pheeko Dubfunk & Pilot Presented by Sebastien, Frenchy le Freak, Chadwick and Tony Kutulas Ladies free before 11 pm, Gentlemen $10 Get Your Tickets At: Ladies free before 11 pm, Gentlemen $10 So this is what happened: We were in line at 10:40, and as a friendly bouncer checked our IDs he confirmed, "Ladies in free before 11:00." As my girlfriends and I approach the main room, another bouncer blocks the way to the entrance. I look at him and then he says flatly, "$15.00". I was a little surprised and said to him, "But it's before 11:00..." He repeats, "It's $15.00." Confused, I reply, "Your other bouncer just said that ladies were in free." He then huffs, "Who said that?" I reply, "The bouncer in line." "Well, it's not free." "Why did he tell us its free then?" I look at him, and he says rudely, "Well, either way you have to pay $15.00 each." I began to protest, "It even says on your website that ladies are in free before 11:00..." He replies matter of factly, "You're not getting in unless you pay $15.00." Because he was so graceless, I had ask him name. This bouncer's name was Jay. I hope he reads this review. We had been in chirpy spirits; however Jay's surly attitude put a damper on our otherwise happy mood. Had he been cool about it or perhaps just a little friendlier, I would have been happy to give up the money. Because of this verbal exchange, my party almost turned around and left --- but we had damn good parking, and you can't give that up in San Francisco no matter how uncouth the bouncer is. Roe would have gotten at least four stars, but 1. Because of a poor first impression and 2. False advertising, they only get one.
