I very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this place. The fish was delicious and the drink and wine selection were excellent. Some veggie options too. I will seek it out again when I find myself in Philly again.

I have to say I wasn't impressed; however it was a Monday night at midnight that I arrived. I was impressed with the layout and how clean the place was. I was not impressed that the sign in the door stated they closed at 2am when the ended up closing at 1230. Drinks were  a little pricey and not very boozy. It does have a great view, and the video bar setup is pretty nice. I will have to give it a second chance, when I visit again I will update my review. For now they get 3 stars for decent drinks, clean atmosphere and the fierce hot tranny at the door checking ID's. Win.

If you had a dream where you were in a Willy Wonka-sized factory and the dream also included chili dogs and fries, and people speaking in a strange language--if you woke up and realized it was not a dream you would be at The Varsity.  It is HUGE.  Chili dogs AMAZING.  Cholesterol level HIGH but so what.  Don't visit Atlanta without having lunch here (dare--ask for a PEPSI)
