by Nathan Malhotra on This review of The Park is for the lunch experience (not for the nightlife/party scene) hmm probably a 3.5 stars but thats kind of my fault, I'll explain... My unsophisticated palette could only find a couple items on the lunch menu that I could eat without pushing something aside. If I wasn't such a picky eater I would have given them a 4. What were those items you ask? The pizza and burgers. So I ordered the margarita pizza. The menu is one of those very small limited ones with only a few choices in each category with more items on the salad section than on the others, the food is pretty fancy and portions are just right without giving you a piggish amount but also not leaving you hungry like one of those ultra-chic restaurants. Along those lines the prices are reasonable (not cheap but not overbearing either) at $10-16 for most lunch dishes. The beer was the maximum I'll spend at $7. The pizza I got was a great portion for one person (as long as they aren't having an appetizer and/or dessert) and was quite tasty and well done. The server was quite attentive and pleasant and the wait for service and food wasn't too long. The best part about this place and the reason I'll come back again is the environment. Half the place is an "outdoor" seating area which feels like outside because of the trees, brick ground, and tables and chairs but is really inside with a skylight as the roof (the doors and 1/2 of the skylight opened during good weather). The decor in the rest of the place is awesome as well, just a very cool place to go on a date or something. Especially if they keep the "outdoor" seating warm and open during the winter and if they utilize the beautiful fireplace in the back seating area outside.
by Pooja B. on So we came here for my Graduation Brunch... The brunch lasts from 10:30- 2:00. Let me start by saying the food was AMAZING. Everything was fresh. The menu had a lot of variety from salads, fruits and full entrees from salmon to roast beef. The burgany wine sauce with mushrooms went especially well with the Roast Beef. That was nice because the roast beef was a little to "rare" for my liking. Then they had this seafood chowder that was so delicious and it just melted in your mouth. The eggs benedict was also quite delicious. One of my favorites was the mini bagels with a variety of toppings. As with any brunch there was a omellette chef who made personalized omelettes and waffles. The champagne was free flowing for $7 or you could order a single serving for $3. What's a brunch without free flowing though... The couple of reasons I gave it four stars was because one the champagne wasn't included and it was really warm... They have the potential to have better ventilation because before we left they turned it on... Hmmm Other than that it went really well... I have only been there for the brunch so I still do want to check out the "Nightlife" even though it didn't get the best reviews. :) We'l see...
by Dee Y. on Second place I visited in Austin. Can't go wrong with Tex-mex in Texas! First thing first...parking situation at this place isn't so cool on a Friday night. It's situated in a strip mall so it shares parking with 10 other joints. Once you get past the parking you have to wait for your table either by the downstairs bar or a smoke-town upstairs. (I forget you can smoke inside in Texas) Either way you will have to sip about two drinks. I had the "recommended" mexican martini and a pomegranate margarita. Wow! once again the size of stuff in Texas! It comes in a glass and a shaker! Once we sat down I ordered the fish taco which I couldn't finish. Everything is extra-large in Texas. Overall I loved the food and drinks for its price (4 people came to about 40 bucks, amazing!) but wouldn't come back on a Friday night.
