Wow! This was an excellent secret find! I think I found this recommendation through Rateclub, actually. Made reservations for 4 and we got seated in one of the V.I.P. booths. The atmosphere and drinks are awesome. The food is delicious, although, I wish they had more variety. My husband and I took a couple of friends who were visiting from Canada here during that crazy storm because we originally wanted to take them to Napa, but never would have made it through the winds, the rain, and floods. So we waited the storm out until it was just drizzling, then went to this place for dinner. It was a Tuesday evening, so we stayed for the live jazz show. Superb! It was a very nice and relaxing evening for their last night in San Francisco before heading back to Montreal. So, they didn't get to see Napa, but they got to taste some wine that came straight from the Napa barrels and went to their taps! Yep, that's right...Wine on tap! on TAP!!! Definitely check this place out!

Signs state "No Cameras!" - That didn't stop me. Shh...bouncers don't check. ;) We saw Mark Farina spin here. There was a diverse crowd, cool vibes and friendly people. Oh Mezzanine...I got buzzed, I danced my feet off. I had fun! I'd come back.

I thought the food was very good. They were very accomodating for our 7 person party (uniting a few two person tables). I had a little bit of everything. I especially liked the yellow spicy bean paste. Good for people with any kind of diet, including Vegans. Good beer on top of all of that made for a good dinner. What is up with the music though? I am a big Pogues fan...but really? At an Ethiopian place? Go and try it out for yourself. Warm and informal.
