by Wilbur Armeli on No cover, fun dance floor, but it's such a massive, sprawling space that it's easy to find a quiet, cozy place to actually just chill out and have a conversation as well. Really nice decor with trees and dark, warm colors. I even saw a fireplace... how cute!!! What I didn't like: when ordering drinks upstairs, I was told that they don't 'serve' tap water... So I got charged $19 for a bottle of water and a well drink. Seriously??? Plus I was told it's a $30 minimum on credit cards... give me a break! When I went to drink at the bar downstairs, the bartender (naturally) offers all of us water glasses, plus even advised me just to argue with the $30 minimum policy. So I went back upstairs and I did! Otherwise, it was an OK place, although I did think that it was over the top to have restroom attendants... Another note: please wear LOTS of deodorant when planning a night out dancing. It would really help as consideration to those around you...!
by Maynard Filmer on This bar is very near where I work and has become my usual hang out after I get off shift at night. The bartenders are really chill and they have a good selection of beers on tap, including my new favorite: Goose Island Honkers Ale. I have a friend at work with whom I usually come here. We meet up with Shea D and the three of us spend the night drinking beers and having intense tournaments of Gin Rummy. To set the record straight: I DO NOT introduce new rules into Gin Rummy, Shea D. just forgets that said rules exist and gets sore when they come back to bite her in the tuchus. :) If you're not the card playing kind and are more interested in the scene, the crowd here tends to be extremely straight, early to mid twenties. The have a beer pong table, a hunting video game, and a foosball table. There aren't too many options for seating, however I think that works better for a bar whose aim is to get people to mingle. It's usually busy, though not too crazy (except on Friday and Saturday), and I've never had a bad time here. I'll be back next week to kick Shea's butt in Gin Rummy again :)
