Two stars is being nice. I'm going to begin with the positive.  The only reason this place has any redemptive quality is simply because Jacob Shure... (more)

If reviews were based on the scene alone this place would get 5 stars easily. I've been to the one in Vegas, which is pretty much the same as here. Good, but not great food. Loud, cramped, but alot of fun. If you're looking for a quiet night out, with 5 star food & service, this isn't the place. The food is actually pretty good depending on what you order. The salads were great, especially the beet salad. The tuna tartare was much better than I expected, and the pastas are mostly above average. The eggplant parm, however, was terrible IMO. Way too many thin layers, packed with too much cheese and breading. It looked like more like a giant piece of lasagna. Our waitress also told us it was pre-made, which brings me to my main issue with this place. It just has that "prepackaged" feel to it. The food is tasty, in the same way The Cheesecake Factory's food is tasty. As a matter of fact, this place reminds me of a fancy, Italian-themed, glitzy version of The Cheesecake Factory. One that just so happens to have an exclusive club attached to it. It all seems a little too commercial for NYC. The greatest places in the city are great because they don't try so hard. They don't have to. I had a great time, and would definitely go back. Although, with so many incredible restaurants in NYC, it's tough to give it more than 3 stars.

What a disappointment. I went there for my friend's birthday after hearing this was a good spot for hip hop on Saturday nights. I'll give them that- the music was pretty decent, and I'm sure it varies by week depending on the dj's style. Drinks were decently priced, but not that great. The main issue was that the club was soo tight, I didn't even feel like I had enough room to dance. Every time I would start dancing, I'd have to move because some frat boy was coming through with his girlfriend/ drink. This, coupled with the fact that I got into an unnecessary confrontation with the bar owner last night, makes this place a no-go in my book. http://static1.px.rateclubs... if you are serious about hip hop/ r&b, go to Union Bar after 2am. __________________________________________________ _ Part 2 - I went there again for another friend's birthday and really liked it. The place is still madd tight but I guess if you're with the right crowd it's fun. Still very much a college bar.

Fried goat cheese with honey= amazing. Pizza a bit salty. Bartenders nice.
