A crew of Rateclub CMs gathered here for some karaoke and bachelorette party fun -- with the help of a phallus-shaped cake reading "to have and to hold." There are like 7 or 8 private karaoke rooms -- each with their own theme and decor. My favorites were the Crown Royale sponsored room with a plush throne and the Hello Kitty room covered in pastel pinks. The songs are selected digitally from a screen on the wall -- which is kind of techy cool, but part of karaoke culture is skimming through the books waiting to be inspired by glimpsing a listing for such great song choices as King of the Road. You'll find a pretty good selection with a focus on American pop hits, Japanese and Korean tunes. Our room had two TVs, so your group can participate from all angles. We also had two tables: yes, they are sturdy enough to act as a stage for two; yes, we tested this. The bartender was really nice, let us linger a little past our rental time, and even made my house liquor-ordered g&t's with Tangueray when they ran out of Sapphire.

Seriously Temple, is it really that great to have soggy customers dancing on your dance floor? It's pouring rain outside and people were press against the building trying to stay dry while they're slowing letting people in. Lucky my friend had an umbrella so that saved our night from misery. Then by the time I got to the door, whoever was checking the guest list flipping though an unorganized pages.. *BAM* "your name isn't there" without taking a good look. Was that a scam for $20 cover charge? Last time I checked, a Beautiful is Cognac and Grand Marnier. If I'm asking for a Cognac, then its only Cognac. Only good thing I have to say about this place is that its spacious and variety of genre. The basement was playing hip-hop and house? while up stair was playing trance. Not bad though I wasn't paying attention to the quality of the music.

Wow. Stepping into Le Club, with the heavy doors being whisked open for you, and the immaculate setting awaiting your arrival, you quickly enter an enchanted venue that is simply beautiful, intimate and extremely sexy. The posh space isn't large, but it twists and turns creating comfortable nooks that allow for conversation to get lost in. We were in their private room in the back for a SF Young Dem chapter meeting and I was consistently marveling at the modern yet classic charm of the place. Don't let the name fool you, it isn't a club, but a lounge with service that makes you feel like you stepped into an old black and white film. The service was accommodating, friendly, and patient. This is a perfect location for an after dinner drink, or after work cool down. You'll find Don Draper and Co mingling around the bar, so sit back, loosen up that tie, and jump back into an era of sultry ambiance and stiff cocktails.
